Chronicles from Nhelaam
Character creation for Nhelaam is, for the most part, standard Pathfinder creation rules, with only a few variations. Nhelaam uses a 26 point buy system, which will allow for a distinctly heroic character, while starting all characters with even opportunities for greatness. Use the Ability Score Point Cost table on page 16 of the Pathfinder Core Rulebook to spend your 26 points on your abilities.
- Remember that Pathfinder point buy ability scores start at 10, rather than 8.
- Also, if you are converting from 3.5, be sure to apply your new racial bonus.
Next choose your race from the six available races and adjust your ability scores accordingly. Select a background from the Nhelaam source book, noting the advantages gained. Alternately, you may choose two traits from the Pathfinder Advanced Player’s Guide. You may not have both a background and traits, you must choose one of the other. Finally choose a class and, if desired, an alternate class feature package. All basic classes and prestige classes from the Core Rulebook and Advanced Player’s Guide can be made to fit into the world of Nhelaam.
Characters created beyond first level will start with gold as indicated on table 12-4 in the Pathfinder Core Rulebook (pg. 400). Additionally, characters created beyond first level may purchase magic items of up to one quarter their starting gold level. For example, if a character starts at 12th level, their starting gold is 108,000. They would thus be allowed to start with any magic items that do not individually exceed 27,000 gold.
